Clinical areas where ozone is investigated
The clinical role of ozone therapy depends on the administration method, the target tissue, current treatments, and individual safety conditions just as much as the disease itself. The following guides address the investigated areas of use in different clinical conditions individually.
The distinct clinical roles of paravertebral and intradiscal ozone.Knee Osteoarthritis
Research on intra-articular ozone for pain and function.Fibromyalgia
Systemic approaches investigated for pain, sleep, and fatigue targets.Shingles and Postherpetic Neuralgia
Adjuvant use investigated in the context of nerve pain and early pain control.Diabetic Foot
Topical ozone, wound care, infection, and circulation assessment.Peripheral Circulation
Research on walking capacity, ischemia, and microcirculation.Lymphedema
Swelling, tissue thickness, and an adjunct approach to complex physical therapy.Diabetes and Metabolic Health
Emerging research on oxidative stress and metabolic biomarkers.Chronic Fatigue / ME-CFS
Systemic applications investigated for fatigue scores and quality of life.Male Reproductive Health
Research on oxidative stress, sperm parameters, and complementary approaches.Skin and Chronic Wounds
Studies on topical ozone, ozonated oils, and the local tissue environment.Aesthetics and Skin Quality
Research on local skin applications and regenerative targets.
How is it evaluated?
The fact that a clinical topic is associated with ozone does not mean that the same method or the same outcome is to be expected in every patient. A more accurate approach is to evaluate existing human data, standard treatments, potential contributions, application risks, and the patient’s goals together. While human studies are more extensive in some areas, in others, the data remain at an early stage.
Our approach in our Bodrum clinic
We evaluate ozone not as a standalone solution for a disease, but in terms of the specific objective with which it can contribute to the current treatment plan in appropriate cases. Particularly in pain, wound, and local tissue applications, the choice of method is personalized according to the clinical picture.
