Why are the mid- and lower face evaluated separately?
Facial aging does not occur in the skin alone. Displacement of fat pads, reduction in connective tissue support, changes in bone structure, and decreased skin elasticity all play a role together. For this reason, addressing every line with the same method is not appropriate.
In which areas can it be evaluated?
- Around the nasolabial fold
- Marionette lines
- Lower face and jowl laxity
- Mild skin laxity
In cases of pronounced volume loss, fillers or biostimulators; in advanced sagging, surgery; and for superficial tissue quality goals, RF microneedling or other energy-based methods may be more appropriate.
What does the research show?
A 2023 study conducted on ten women reported a reduction in wrinkle depth and area, an increase in epidermis/dermis thickness and density, and an improvement in elasticity after Endolift for nasolabial and marionette lines. The study includes objective device measurements, but the sample size is small. While a 2024 systematic review supports positive outcomes in face and neck applications, a 2025 scoping review shows that the current literature mostly consists of small case series.
How accurate is the term “non-surgical facelift”?
Endolifting is minimally invasive; a fiber is advanced beneath the skin. In a surgical facelift, however, the skin and deeper tissues can be repositioned more comprehensively. Therefore, the two methods do not aim for the same effect and are not directly equivalent.
Procedure and recovery
Application vectors are determined according to the natural contours of the face and the targeted tissue. Mild swelling, tenderness, bruising, and tightness may be seen during the first few days. The collagen remodeling process develops over weeks and months.
Safety
Nerve and vascular anatomy in the mid-lower face is complex. The nasolabial and marionette regions are related to areas considered “danger zones”; the correct anatomical plane and controlled energy are important. Previous fillers, thread lifts, or surgical procedures must be evaluated.
Frequently asked questions
Are nasolabial folds completely erased?
The cause and depth of the line are important. Most often, the goal is not complete erasure, but softening the appearance and supporting tissue quality.
Can it be performed together with fillers?
Combined or sequential planning is possible; sequence and timing are determined according to previous procedures and tissue status.
Is a single session sufficient?
It varies according to tissue structure and the goal. A single session may be sufficient for some individuals; the same result or longevity is not promised to everyone.
Our approach at our Bodrum clinic
In mid- and lower-face planning, we look not only at lines, but also at volume distribution, skin laxity, jowl structure, and the overall proportions of the face. When necessary, we compare Endolifting with RF microneedling, PN/PDRN, fillers, or surgical options.
