What is L-Arginine IV?

L-arginine IV may have an established use in certain diagnostic tests; its evidence as a general performance or wellness infusion is limited.

How does it work?

It is a substrate for nitric oxide synthesis and plays a role in the urea cycle and protein metabolism.

When can it be considered?

It can be used in defined diagnostic contexts such as growth hormone stimulation testing. Routine IV use in healthy individuals for performance or circulation purposes is different and has a low level of evidence.

Level of evidence

A – in diagnostic use; C – in wellness use.

Safety and patient selection

Hypotension, electrolyte changes, renal and hepatic function, and concomitant cardiac diseases should be evaluated.

Our Approach at Our Bodrum Clinic

We only consider this administration after verifying the pharmaceutical characteristics of the product and evaluating the patient’s medical history, current medications, renal and hepatic functions, necessary electrolyte-micronutrient measurements, and relevant contraindications. We plan IV therapy not as an alternative to standard treatment, but as a complementary or replacement approach when a genuine clinical justification exists.

Important note

This page is for general informational purposes; it is not a personalized diagnosis, prescription, or administration protocol. Administration should not be planned without verifying the IV product’s labeling, concentration, excipients, licensing, stability, and compatibility information.
