Guide to HIFU applications
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-invasive method that delivers focused ultrasound energy to selected tissue depths without cutting the skin surface. It can be used for skin tightening and contouring goals on the face, double chin–jawline, neck, and selected body areas. Eligibility is determined by evaluating anatomy, tissue thickness, the degree of skin laxity, and the individual’s expectations together.

Our approach at our Bodrum clinic
We do not view HIFU as a one-size-fits-all face lifting or body sculpting procedure. The anatomy of the area, the thickness of the skin and adipose tissue, the degree of laxity, previous procedures, and realistic goals are evaluated together. The objective is to create a measured plan that preserves a natural appearance by selecting the right area and the appropriate tissue depth in the appropriate candidate.
Who might HIFU not be suitable for?
If there is advanced excess skin, pronounced volume loss, conditions requiring surgical-level tissue repositioning, or clinical conditions in the treatment area that may affect safety, different methods may be more appropriate. For this reason, a physician evaluation prior to the procedure is essential.
Related approach
HIFU and minimally invasive laser-based tightening methods are not the same. Depending on tissue targets and recovery expectations, a comparative evaluation can be performed with other options such as Endolifting.
Frequently asked questions about HIFU
Are HIFU and Endolifting the same method?
No. While HIFU aims for noninvasive tightening using focused ultrasound energy, Endolifting is a laser-based, minimally invasive approach. They are evaluated differently in terms of tissue targets, the recovery process, and candidacy.
Is HIFU used only for the face?
No. In addition to the face and neck, it can also be evaluated for selected body areas such as the abdomen, arms, thighs, and waist-hips with skin tightening and contouring goals.
Is HIFU sufficient for every type of skin laxity?
No. In cases of advanced excess skin, pronounced volume loss, or conditions requiring surgical-level repositioning, different methods may be more appropriate.
