Short answerIt is a combination approach that aims for a more balanced appearance along the jawline by limiting the downward pulling effect of the lower face and the platysma.

What is Nefertiti Lift Botulinum Toxin?

In botulinum toxin procedures, the goal is to modulate the activity of the target muscle or gland in a temporary and controlled manner. Results vary depending on individual anatomy, muscle strength, the treatment area, and clinical goals.

What is a Nefertiti lift?

The Nefertiti lift is the name of a procedural approach aimed at reducing the downward pull of specific muscles in the lower face and neck. It is not equivalent to surgical facelift or energy-based skin tightening methods.

In which appearance might it be more meaningful?

In selected individuals where dynamic platysma activity contributes to the lower face contour, it may provide a limited contour change. If there is marked skin laxity or volume loss, expectations are more limited.

For whom can it be considered?

Its effect is limited in true skin laxity and volume loss; it does not share the same purpose as HIFU, energy-based methods, or other treatments.

Pre-procedure evaluation

In our clinic, rather than applying a standardized point template, our approach is to evaluate the history, dynamic examination, facial or functional anatomy, asymmetry, prior treatments, and the individual’s goals together. In the evaluation, the person’s medical history, anatomical characteristics, previous treatments, and treatment expectations are addressed together.

Scientific evidence

The use of botulinum toxin in this field is addressed within the framework of clinical research and expert evaluations. Appropriate patient selection, clearly defined goals, and personalized assessment form the basis of the treatment.

When does the effect begin and how long does it last?

The effect usually begins to appear within the first few days and becomes more pronounced in the following days. The duration may vary depending on the injection site, muscle activity, and individual biological differences. The timing of the follow-up examination is planned according to the type of procedure.

Possible side effects

Pain, tenderness, bruising, or headache may occur at the injection site. Specific to the region, effects such as temporary asymmetry, unintended weakness in adjacent muscles, changes in eyelid/eyebrow position, changes in oral functions, or difficulty swallowing may develop. Rare but serious generalized muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, or difficulty breathing require urgent medical evaluation.

Who may it not be suitable for?

Active infection in the treatment area, known hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin components, and certain neuromuscular diseases require special attention. Pregnancy/breastfeeding, anticoagulant use, aminoglycosides or medications that can affect neuromuscular transmission, and previous botulinum toxin procedures should be shared with the physician.

Points to consider after the procedure

It is advisable not to unnecessarily rub or intensely manipulate the treatment area on the same day. Short-lived redness, tenderness, or small bruises may be observed at the injection points. It is often possible to return to daily activities shortly; if strenuous exercise, intense heat exposure, or another facial procedure is planned, follow your physician’s recommendations according to your individual situation. Because the effect is not fully realized immediately, early judgments regarding symmetry should not be made in the first hours or first days. If a pronounced change in mouth movements, difficulty swallowing, unexpected marked muscle weakness, or any other symptom that concerns you develops, contact our clinic. Serious symptoms such as breathing difficulties or marked difficulty swallowing require urgent medical evaluation.

Our approach in our Bodrum clinic

Our goal is not to standardize facial expression, but to create a personalized plan that preserves the individual’s natural facial expressions, facial proportions, and opposing muscle balance.

Frequently asked questions

Is the effect permanent?

No. Nerve-muscle or nerve-gland communication re-establishes over time, and the effect diminishes.

Is the procedure planned the same way for everyone?

No. The plan is personalized by taking into account clinical findings, anatomy, functional goals, and previous procedure experiences.

Why is the follow-up evaluation important?

The effect develops gradually. The follow-up evaluation helps review the clinical response, function, and treatment goals together.
