Laser in Tibialis Anterior Tendon Pain | Anterior Ankle Tendon Pain
Direct clinical evidence for laser in tibialis anterior tendinopathy is limited; as an adjunctive option drawing indirect support from general tendinopathy data with 980 nm, it can be considered in addition to load management and strengthening.

Short answerThe tibialis anterior tendon runs along the anterior-medial aspect of the ankle. It can become painful with prolonged walking, inclines, and shoe pressure. HILT data specific to this tendon is limited; 980 nm receives indirect support from general tendinopathy evidence.
Symptoms
Tenderness in the front of the ankle, pain when lifting the foot upward, and complaints that increase with prolonged walking may be observed.
980 and 1470 nm
980 nm is more rational for tendon targeting. 1470 nm has a more superficial thermal character; there is no direct evidence of efficacy.
Scientific evidence
Level of evidence: C. General HILT tendinopathy data is supportive; direct data specific to the tibialis anterior is scarce.
Our approach at our Bodrum clinic
Loading, footwear, gait pattern, and tendon integrity are evaluated. Laser is added to strengthening and load management.
