PDO thread lift applications

PDO thread applications are minimally invasive aesthetic methods used to provide mechanical support to facial tissues, define contours, or support collagen response in selected patients. They are not the equivalent of a surgical facelift.

Thread types and their purposes

COG and similar anchoring threads can be evaluated primarily for mechanical lifting and vector support; mono and spring-type threads can be evaluated for subcutaneous support and collagen response. Thread type, thickness, length, and placement plane are selected according to the anatomical target.

Which areas can it be used in?

In suitable patients, the lower face, jowls, jawline, cheeks, and eyebrow area can be evaluated. Not every type of sagging is suitable for a thread lift; in cases of pronounced tissue excess, different methods may be required.

After the procedure

Temporary edema, tenderness, bruising, a pulling sensation, or surface irregularities may be observed. Less common complications such as infection, thread visibility/extrusion, and asymmetry are also possible.

Frequently asked questions

Does a PDO thread lift provide the same result as a surgical facelift?

No. A PDO thread lift is not equivalent to a surgical facelift. It can be evaluated for more limited tissue support and contour goals with appropriate patient selection.

How long does the effect last?

The duration varies depending on the type of thread used, anatomical region, tissue characteristics, and the individual’s biological response; it is not accurate to state a single standard duration.

Our approach in our Bodrum clinic

We evaluate thread lifting not in isolation, but in conjunction with skin quality, adipose tissue, ligamentous structure, and the degree of sagging. When necessary, it can be combined at different times with Endolifting, skin boosters, or other skin rejuvenation methods.
