What can creams containing collagen do?
Topical collagen molecules may primarily have moisture-retaining and film-forming effects on the skin surface. The clinical effect of a cosmetic product depends not only on the word “collagen” but also on other ingredients such as retinoids, niacinamide, vitamin C, peptides, moisturizers, and sun protection.
Do oral collagen peptides work?
Some meta-analyses of randomized trials have reported that hydrolyzed collagen may provide modest improvements in skin hydration and elasticity. However, a 2025 meta-analysis found that the benefit was more uncertain when high-quality studies and studies with non-industry funding were analyzed separately. Therefore, oral collagen should not be presented as “definitely rejuvenating.”
What affects the skin’s own collagen?
Age, UV exposure, smoking, hormonal status, and protein and micronutrient adequacy affect the skin matrix. Regular sun protection is the most fundamental step in reducing photoaging. Some topical treatments, such as retinoids, and energy-based aesthetic procedures may be used to support dermal remodeling in selected individuals.
Mesotherapy and energy-based procedures
Mesotherapy, HIFU, Endolifting, IPL/BBL, and Red Light have different targets. None should be regarded as the same method simply under the heading of “collagen activation.” Selection is based on skin structure, pigmentation, laxity, volume loss, and expectations for improvement.
Does bioresonance increase collagen production?
There is insufficient evidence showing that bioresonance increases clinically meaningful collagen production in human skin. Therefore, it should not replace evidence-based methods in a skin rejuvenation plan.
