Endolifting in the Neck Area

Short answerNeck Endolifting is a minimally invasive laser approach considered in selected individuals for mild–moderate skin laxity, horizontal neck lines, and tissue quality goals at the jaw-neck transition. Because not every change in neck appearance stems from the same structural cause, platysmal bands, excess skin, and submental fat are distinguished from one another.

Which structures are important in the neck?

Skin quality, the platysma muscle, submental fat, the jawline, weight changes, and photoaging jointly affect neck appearance. Horizontal neck lines and vertical platysmal bands are not the same problem and may not require the same treatment.

When might Endolifting be more suitable?

  • Mild–moderate skin laxity
  • A goal of tissue tightening for horizontal neck lines
  • Limited contour irregularity at the jaw-neck transition
  • Selected patients without significant excess skin requiring surgery

Other treatments may be more suitable in cases of advanced skin sagging, pronounced platysmal bands, or a need for surgical-level repositioning.

What does the research show?

The neck study published in 2024 reported positive changes in biometric measurements after Endolift for horizontal neck wrinkles. The 2024 systematic review also reported positive clinical signals in facial and neck rejuvenation. However, the 2025 scoping review shows that the existing literature consists largely of small case series; therefore, outcome expectations should be evaluated alongside study design.

Are the neck and a double chin the same thing?

No. A double chin is more closely associated with submental fat and the jaw-neck angle; neck laxity also involves skin quality and the structure of the platysma. In suitable individuals, both areas can be addressed within the same plan, but goals are set separately.

Procedure and recovery

The fiber is advanced in a controlled manner within the targeted subdermal plane. Mild swelling, bruising, tenderness, or tightness may occur during the first few days. A more mature tissue response develops over time through the collagen remodeling process.

Safety

The neck region requires careful anatomical planning with respect to vascular, nerve, thyroid, and superficial muscle structures. If there is an unexplained neck mass, one-sided swelling, difficulty swallowing, or newly developed pain, a medical evaluation should be performed before an aesthetic procedure.

Frequently asked questions

Do neck lines disappear completely?

The depth and cause of the lines vary. The goal is often to soften their appearance and support tissue quality.

Do platysmal bands also improve?

Pronounced muscle bands may require different treatment options. Endolifting alone is not a suitable solution for every platysmal band.

Is it an alternative to neck lift surgery?

It may be a minimally invasive option for mild–moderate laxity; surgery may provide more comprehensive results in cases of advanced excess skin.

Our approach at our Bodrum clinic

In our neck evaluation, we examine horizontal lines, platysmal bands, a double chin, skin quality, and the jawline together. This allows us to compare Endolifting or its alternatives according to the actual anatomical target, rather than recommending a standard procedure solely under the heading of “neck tightening.”
